Head-On Collisions at Busy Intersections
Intersections such as Fort Barrette Road and Franklin D. Roosevelt Avenue can create risk due to turning movements. When injuries are reported in Kapolei, crews often work to stabilize traffic flow and assist those involved.
Head-on collisions can occur when vehicles enter an intersection at the same time or move into opposing lanes. Traffic signals, driver visibility, and timing can all affect how safely vehicles pass through these crossings.
These types of crashes may lead to significant injuries because the force of impact can be concentrated at the front of both vehicles. Intersections in growing communities may experience heavier traffic, which can increase the chance of a serious collision if drivers misjudge distance or timing.
