Knoxville, TN (January 22, 2026) – A collision involving a Knox County van and a city CAT bus resulted in multiple injuries Wednesday morning at the intersection of North Cherry Street and East Magnolia Avenue. The crash occurred shortly after 4:00 a.m., prompting a coordinated response from Knoxville Fire and Rescue units.
Medics and rescue personnel worked quickly to treat individuals suffering from a variety of injuries. Six people were reportedly traveling in the Knox County van at the time of the collision, while additional passengers were on board the city transit bus. Ladder 3, Engine 3, Rescue 1, and Battalion Chief 1 were among the responding units operating on TAC Channel 5 to manage the scene and assist the injured.
