Lafayette Co, MO (January 14, 2026) – A pedestrian was moderately injured Monday evening after being struck by a passing vehicle along Old US-40 near Panther Creek Rd in Lafayette County.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m. when a westbound 2005 Pontiac Vibe, driven by a 39-year-old woman from Concordia, MO, encountered a pedestrian walking in the roadway. Authorities stated that the vehicle’s passenger-side mirror struck the pedestrian, a 39-year-old woman from Mansfield, MO, as it passed.
Emergency responders from Concordia EMS and local fire crews arrived promptly at the scene. The injured pedestrian was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. Officials noted that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The vehicle sustained only minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene after the incident.
Multiple agencies, including the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, assisted in securing the area and documenting the scene.
