Lake Mary, FL (January 15, 2026) – A serious multi-vehicle crash caused significant disruption on I-4 westbound in Seminole County Thursday morning, resulting in injuries and a temporary full highway closure.
The incident occurred shortly before 9:00 a.m., just west of the Lake Mary Blvd exit and approaching the SR-434 interchange. Florida Highway Patrol reported that all westbound lanes were shut down for a time as emergency crews worked to assist the injured and clear the roadway. All lanes have since been reopened.
Emergency responders treated several individuals at the scene for various injuries, though the total number of people hurt and the severity of their conditions have not been released. Multiple vehicles were believed to be involved in the crash, which unfolded during morning rush hour, adding to the traffic congestion in the area.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the collision. FHP has not yet disclosed whether speed, distraction, or weather may have contributed.
