Lansing Township, MI (March 30, 2026) – A 36-year-old man lost his life, and five others were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash in Lansing Township.
Emergency units responded around 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, to West Saginaw Street near North Rosemary Street. Early findings indicate an eastbound SUV crossed into the westbound lanes, striking one vehicle and causing a second collision with another westbound vehicle.
The 36-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Five other people were taken to nearby hospitals with serious injuries. Officials believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, though that has not been fully confirmed.
There were also unconfirmed reports that the same vehicle may have been involved in another crash earlier near Waverly Road. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased, and we are thinking of those injured as they receive care.
What Can Lead to Multi-Vehicle Crashes on Busy City Roads?
Crashes involving multiple vehicles often begin with a single event, such as a driver crossing into oncoming traffic. This can quickly lead to chain reactions, especially on roads with steady traffic in both directions.
Speed and driver condition may affect how quickly a situation escalates. When vehicles are unable to stop in time, additional collisions can occur within seconds. Road layout, traffic flow, and visibility also play a part in how these incidents unfold.
In many cases, reviewing vehicle positions, damage, and timing helps explain how multiple impacts occurred. These details can provide a clearer picture of how the crash developed.
