Highway Crash Safety and Construction Zone Awareness
Crashes involving large commercial vehicles can result in devastating consequences, particularly when vehicles cross into opposing lanes of traffic. Drivers are encouraged to remain alert, avoid distractions, and use extra caution when traveling through construction zones or areas with modified traffic patterns.
Roadway construction projects can create narrower lanes, shifting traffic flow, and reduced visibility, increasing the risk of serious accidents. Slowing down and maintaining safe spacing between vehicles can help motorists react more safely to unexpected hazards.
Officials also remind drivers to stay attentive during overnight travel, when fatigue and reduced visibility may contribute to collisions.
