Frequently Asked Questions
Why do crashes between cars and motorcycles so frequently happen at intersections?
Intersections force drivers to judge the speed and distance of oncoming or crossing traffic, and a motorcycle's smaller profile can be harder to spot in that moment, especially during left turns across traffic.
What can drivers do to spot motorcycles more easily?
Checking twice before turning or changing lanes, scanning mirrors and blind spots specifically for motorcycles, and allowing extra following distance can help drivers notice a rider in time to react.
What should a motorcyclist do after being involved in a crash?
If possible, riders should move to a safe area, call 911, and seek medical evaluation even if injuries aren't immediately obvious, since some injuries from a motorcycle crash can take time to show symptoms.
