Why Loading Dock Accidents Can Be Deadly
Tractor-trailer and loading dock environments present significant hazards due to heavy equipment and limited visibility. Pedestrians in proximity to trailers or trucks are at high risk if vehicles move unexpectedly.
Even short distances of movement by a trailer can cause fatal injuries because of the vehicle’s weight. Safety protocols, including ensuring the area is clear before moving large vehicles, are critical in preventing such accidents. Emergency responders focus on securing the scene, providing immediate medical attention, and preserving evidence for investigation.
