Ocean View, DE (August 13, 2026) – One person was injured on Tuesday night, August 11, in a crash involving an e-bike and a vehicle near Central Avenue and Route 26. The incident was reported at approximately 10:34 p.m.
The initial alert indicated that the e-bike was struck by a vehicle. Responders evaluated the injured patient and arranged transportation for medical treatment.
The patient was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. An air medical unit was initially considered but ultimately was not used. Investigators continue reviewing available information to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Why E-Bike Riders Remain Vulnerable at Lower Speeds
E-bike riders have little protection between their bodies and a motor vehicle, pavement, or other hard surfaces. Even a lower-speed impact can throw a rider from the bike and cause direct contact with the roadway.
