Why Rear-End Crashes Involving School Buses Can Lead to Serious Injuries
Rear-end crashes can be especially dangerous when large vehicles like buses and semi-trucks are involved. These vehicles are heavier and require longer stopping distances, which can increase the force of impact during sudden traffic slowdowns.
When a bus carrying students is struck from behind, passengers may be thrown forward in their seats. While school buses are built with protective design features, strong impacts can still result in serious harm. Factors such as vehicle speed, traffic flow, and road conditions often influence how severe injuries may be in this type of crash.
Incidents involving commercial trucks also tend to involve complex vehicle dynamics due to their size and weight.
