Locke Township, MI (January 8, 2026) – Two men were hospitalized following a severe head-on crash on Wednesday morning in Ingham County. The incident occurred around 8:10 a.m. on M-52 near Bell Oak Rd, prompting a rapid emergency response from deputies and rescue teams.
According to the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, a 42-year-old Owosso man was traveling north on M-52 when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound pickup truck driven by a 29-year-old man from Laingsburg. The impact left both vehicles heavily damaged and required extrication for both drivers.
Emergency medical teams transported the Owosso driver to the hospital with critical injuries. The Laingsburg man was also hospitalized and is reported to have sustained serious injuries. No passengers were in either vehicle at the time of the crash.
At the scene, one vehicle came to rest off the roadway, while the other remained on the pavement. Investigators have not yet determined why the northbound vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic. The Ingham Regional Crash Investigation Team is actively reviewing all aspects of the crash.
