The accident was reported shortly after 10 a.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway. A semi truck lost control and crashed into a wall, leaving the vehicle jackknifed with heavy front-end damage and a section of the wall destroyed.
Fluid from the truck spilled onto the roadway, adding to the hazardous conditions. Officials said up to five other vehicles may have been involved, though it remains unclear if they were part of the initial crash or affected by debris.
