Long Beach, CA (January 14, 2026) – A man suffered a leg injury in a suspected hit-and-run incident reported Monday evening near East Shoreline Drive in Long Beach. The collision took place around 6:00 p.m. and involved a red sedan that fled the scene.
Authorities were called to the area after witnesses observed the pedestrian being struck near Gaucho Café. The injured man was seen limping away toward a nearby restroom facility following the impact. Responding officers and emergency personnel located the victim and evaluated his condition. He sustained a leg injury but remained alert and communicative at the scene.
The vehicle involved—described as a red sedan—was last seen heading toward Alamitos Ave. At the time of the report, the license plate number had not been identified, and the driver remained at large.
Police units secured the area and began gathering statements from bystanders while searching for surveillance footage that may aid in identifying the suspect. No additional injuries or fatalities were reported, and the situation was brought under control shortly after law enforcement’s arrival.
