LOS ANGELES, Los Angeles County, Calif., Sept. 25, 2026 — Two vehicles collided Wednesday evening, September 23, on southbound I-5 near Glendale Boulevard in Los Angeles, blocking the fast lane and prompting a response from fire crews and the California Highway Patrol.
The California Highway Patrol said a gray Toyota Prius and a red Ford Mustang came together in the center divider area of southbound I-5, just north of Glendale Boulevard, around 7:20 p.m. Both vehicles reportedly ended up blocking the number one lane after the collision.
Dispatch logs show a report of occupants trapped in one of the vehicles, prompting the Los Angeles Fire Department to respond alongside CHP units. Emergency crews cleared the scene by around 7:45 p.m., after freeing occupants from the vehicles.
