Los Angeles, CA (February 1, 2026) – An accident involving a pedestrian and a fleeing vehicle was reported Saturday evening in downtown Los Angeles, prompting a felony hit-and-run investigation.
The incident occurred around 7:00 PM on January 31 at the intersection of 6th St and Main St, where emergency responders were dispatched to assist a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. According to dispatch information, the vehicle involved—a black Mercedes multipurpose vehicle—fled the scene immediately after the collision.
First responders, including ambulance crews, arrived quickly and provided aid to the injured pedestrian. The exact nature and severity of the injuries have not been officially confirmed, but the response was classified as a Code 3 felony hit-and-run, indicating significant concern for the victim’s condition.
Law enforcement officers from Central Traffic Division are actively investigating the case. The suspect vehicle’s license plate was partially recorded, and efforts are underway to locate both the driver and the vehicle involved.
