Louisville, KY (January 7, 2026) – A residential fire early on January 6 sent two individuals to the hospital and left one firefighter with minor injuries following a coordinated emergency response on Scarborough Ave near Parliament Ct. The fire broke out just before dawn, prompting fire crews from both Pleasure Ridge Park Fire and Fairdale Fire to rush to the scene.
Crews arrived around 4:00 a.m. and located one occupant outside the burning home who reported another person still trapped inside. Firefighters quickly made entry into the structure, successfully locating and rescuing the second individual. Both occupants were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that have not yet been detailed publicly.
One firefighter sustained minor injuries during the operation and was evaluated at an occupational clinic as a precaution. No life-threatening conditions were reported among emergency personnel.
Fire officials stated that approximately 25 firefighters worked together for 23 minutes to bring the blaze under control. As of now, investigators have not determined the exact cause of the fire, and an investigation remains ongoing.
