Frequently Asked Questions
How do weather and road conditions affect crash risk?
Wet pavement, poor lighting, and debris can all reduce visibility and traction, making it harder for drivers to see smaller vehicles like e-bikes in time to react.
What should someone do right after a crash involving an e-bike?
Call 911, check for injuries, and avoid moving an injured person unless there's an immediate danger. Get contact and insurance information from everyone involved, and note what you remember about how the crash happened.
Where do e-bike and bicycle crashes tend to happen most often?
Many occur at intersections or on roads without dedicated bike lanes, where drivers and riders have limited time to spot each other before paths cross.
What to Do After an E-Bike Crash in Lower Milford Township, PA
Anyone involved in an e-bike crash should get checked by a medical provider even if injuries seem minor at first, since head and neck injuries aren't always obvious right away. It's worth keeping a record of any symptoms that appear in the days afterward, like headaches, dizziness, or confusion. Parents of young riders should also hold on to the e-bike and any damaged gear until the incident report is finalized, in case it's needed later. Filing a report with local police, if one hasn't already been taken, helps create an official record of what happened.
