Why Stalled Semi-Trucks on Highways Can Lead to Severe Collisions
Semi-trucks are large and may block multiple lanes if they stall. This can create sudden hazards for drivers approaching at highway speeds. Limited reaction time increases the chance of a serious crash.
Passenger vehicles that strike large trucks may slide underneath the trailer. This type of crash can cause severe damage due to the height difference between vehicles. Visibility and stopping distance also affect how quickly drivers can respond.
Highways often have faster-moving traffic, which makes stalled vehicles more dangerous. Clear warning signals and quick removal of stalled trucks can help reduce risks for other drivers.
