Lubbock, TX (January 10, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident on Friday afternoon at the intersection of University Ave and 66th St resulted in injuries and prompted a coordinated emergency response in south-central Lubbock.
The crash occurred around 3:09 p.m. and involved a silver Mitsubishi and a gray Ford SUV. According to dispatch communications, the vehicles collided in the northbound lanes near the Stripes convenience store. Multiple callers reported the incident, triggering an automatic crash report and immediate dispatch of fire and police units.
Firefighters from Engine 17 and Engine 8 arrived on scene to investigate and manage traffic. Crews worked to secure the area and assess the individuals involved in the crash. At the time of the report, it was confirmed that injuries were sustained, though the exact number and severity were not yet disclosed.
