Lyle, MN (March 22, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash left one woman hurt on Saturday night, March 21, in Mower County. Emergency units were called to the intersection of Hwy 218 and 110th St shortly after 7:30 p.m.

According to reports, a Hyundai traveling north on Hwy 218 collided with a Ford moving east on 110th St. The impact occurred in the intersection under circumstances that have not been fully detailed.

The Hyundai driver, 31-year-old Breanna Kay Anderson of Austin, was taken to Mayo Clinic Hospital in Austin with injuries described as not life-threatening. She was the only person in her vehicle.

The Ford was driven by 23-year-old Zoe Jade Berg of Lyle. A 15-year-old girl was riding with her at the time of the crash. Both were not hurt.

Officials reported that all occupants were wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not believed to be a factor. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available. Our thoughts are with those affected as they continue to recover.

What Factors Can Influence Intersection Crashes Like This?

Crashes at intersections often happen when two vehicles arrive at the same point from different directions. These areas require drivers to judge speed, distance, and right-of-way quickly.

Visibility can also affect how drivers respond. Obstructed views, weather conditions, or low light may make it harder to see approaching traffic. Even a brief delay in reaction can lead to a crash.

Traffic control signs and signals are another key part of intersection safety. Drivers must follow posted signs and remain alert for vehicles that may not yield as expected. Careful driving and reduced speed near intersections can help lower the chance of collisions.
