Mariposa County, CA (July 17, 2026) – A head-on collision involving an SUV and a motorhome left at least one person with major injuries on Friday morning on SR-140 near the 4932–4959 block.
The collision was reported at approximately 8:08 a.m. after an iPhone crash alert. Initial dispatch information indicated two vehicles were involved. Witnesses later stated that the SUV crossed the center line and struck the motorhome head-on.
The severity of the collision prompted the response to be upgraded to a major injury crash. Dispatch updates indicated one person was airlifted to Doctors Medical Center for treatment. Tow trucks were requested to remove the damaged SUV and the 33-foot Class A motorhome, and one-way traffic control was established while the roadway was cleared.
The identities of those involved have not been released. The cause of the accident remains under investigation as additional details become available.
