According to the initial report, a blue SUV and a black SUV were involved in a head-on wreck. Later information identified one vehicle as a Jeep Grand Cherokee and another as a blue BMW SUV.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes were blocked following the accident. Emergency units worked to remove people from the vehicles, and traffic delays continued while the roadway remained closed. The identities of those involved have not been released.
