Lancaster, CA (August 25, 2026) – Two vehicles, including a semi-truck and a black sedan, were involved in a head-on collision on SR-138 near 45th St W on August 24. The sedan was reportedly behind the big rig when the driver appeared to swerve into the truck’s lane, according to an initial caller report.
The crash left both lanes blocked and prompted a request for a hard closure. A person inside the black Hyundai Elantra reportedly could not get out of the vehicle and was crying while seeking help. The crash was later classified as involving major injuries, though the number of people hurt and the extent of their injuries were not provided.
The semi-truck had two trailers, and one of its fuel tanks ruptured, releasing around 100 gallons of diesel onto a dirt surface. No storm drains or waterways were affected, and the leak was stopped after the tank was plugged. Emergency units also requested additional assistance to handle the fuel spill and heavy truck.
