Olivehurst, CA (July 11, 2026) – A major injury collision involving a minivan and a John Deere tractor was reported early on Wednesday morning on northbound State Route 70 near Boyer Road in Olivehurst.
The collision was first reported shortly before 6:40 a.m. Initial dispatch information described it as a major traffic collision, with both directions of SR-70 affected during the emergency response. Southbound lanes were closed for a period, and later updates indicated both directions were temporarily shut down to allow an air ambulance to land.
Dispatch records show a minivan sustained major front-end damage. A John Deere tractor was also involved and required heavy-duty towing from the roadway. Tow requests were coordinated for both vehicles before traffic conditions gradually improved.
By approximately 7:56 a.m., the southbound lane had reopened. At 9:19 a.m., the call classification was updated to confirm the collision involved major injuries. The identities of those involved and the number of people hurt had not been released. Investigators continue working to determine what led to the collision.
