Acampo, CA (July 20, 2026) – A major two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and a dark-colored sedan was reported shortly before 1:00 a.m. on northbound State Route 99 at the Acampo Road off-ramp. Initial reports indicated the semi overturned onto its side while the sedan came to rest blocking lanes of the freeway.
According to CHP dispatch information, a witness reported that the sedan had been passing on the shoulder before moving in front of the semi moments before the vehicles collided. The semi driver was trapped inside the cab, prompting emergency units to request specialized heavy-duty equipment to stabilize the truck before the person could be removed. The fully loaded semi remained on its side as crews worked at the roadway.
Northbound SR-99 was shut down just south of Acampo Road, with traffic diverted at Woodbridge while crews cleared the roadway.
