Rancho Cordova, CA (June 25, 2026) – At least one person was hurt in a major traffic accident involving three vehicles early on Thursday morning, June 25, at Folsom Blvd and Norcade Cir in Rancho Cordova.

According to police reports, the wreck was reported around 12:15 a.m. near the intersection east of Norcade Cir. Initial reports indicated a three-vehicle roadway collision, with one caller reporting that a white Honda Accord, a white Ford Ranger, and a gray Toyota 4Runner were involved. Information from the log suggested the Honda driver may have been impaired, and one party reportedly pursued a suspected vehicle after it allegedly caused another traffic crash.

Emergency units were called to the intersection after reports of blocked lanes and vehicles that were believed to be undrivable. Tow trucks were later requested for at least two of the vehicles due to moderate front-end damage. Traffic lanes were eventually cleared, but the report was later upgraded from a hit-and-run investigation and unknown-injury report to a major-injury collision. Detectives are continuing to examine the circumstances leading up to the collision as additional details are gathered.

We hope those hurt in this early-morning crash make a full and speedy recovery.

What Is Typically Examined After a Multi-Vehicle Collision?

When a multi-vehicle collision occurs, several factors are usually reviewed to determine how the chain of events occurred. Investigators may look at vehicle positions, damage patterns, witness statements, and any available surveillance or dash-camera footage. These details can help establish the sequence in which vehicles came into contact with one another.

Road conditions, lighting, visibility, and driver behavior are also commonly evaluated. In some cases, investigators review whether impairment, distraction, speeding, or other factors may have contributed. Vehicle inspections can reveal mechanical issues that may have played a part as well.

Because crashes involving multiple vehicles can involve several accounts of what happened, gathering and comparing evidence frequently takes time. As more information becomes available, a clearer picture of the circumstances surrounding the collision can emerge.
