Macclenny, FL (June 20, 2026) – A Jacksonville man and woman were killed on Friday morning, June 19, after their vehicle crashed through a bridge railing and became submerged in water near Macclenny.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. on County Road 23C near Ruben Crawford Road in Baker County. Investigators said the vehicle was traveling east when it lost control, struck a bridge railing, overturned, and came to rest upside down in the water beneath the bridge.
The driver, a 31-year-old Jacksonville man, and a 32-year-old Jacksonville woman were pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved, and additional details regarding what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway have not been released.
