Prince George’s Co., MD (July 7, 2026) – A man died, and multiple others were hurt after a two-vehicle collision early on Monday, July 6, at Kenilworth Avenue and Creston Street in Prince George’s County. The accident was reported around 12:30 a.m.

The police said two vehicles were involved at the intersection. One driver, later identified as 40-year-old Anthony Butler of Washington, D.C., was pronounced dead.

All other occupants from both vehicles were brought to a hospital in stable condition. The initial report did not state how many people were injured.

Kenilworth Avenue was closed between Tuxedo Road and Creston Street after the crash, and drivers were advised to use other routes. Authorities continue reviewing what led to the fatal case.

We extend our sincere condolences to Butler’s family and hope everyone hurt recovers.

How Overnight Intersection Crashes Can Lead to Serious Outcomes

Overnight intersection crashes can be dangerous because visibility is frequently lower, and traffic signals may be harder to judge from a distance. Drivers may also have less time to react if another vehicle suddenly enters their path.

Two-vehicle impacts at intersections can affect people differently depending on seating position, speed, and the angle of contact. A driver may face the strongest force if the front or side of the vehicle takes most of the hit.

Road closures after a serious collision usually allow crews to clear lanes, document vehicle positions, and check for debris. Later medical updates may also clarify how many people were hurt and how severe their injuries were.
