Phoenix, AZ (September 7, 2026) – A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle near 35th Avenue and Deer Valley Road early on Saturday morning, September 5. The crash happened shortly after 4 a.m.
The man was crossing Deer Valley Road outside of a crosswalk when the vehicle struck him. Emergency medical personnel arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene. The police said speed and impairment were not factors in the collision.
The driver remained at the scene following the crash, while Deer Valley Rd was closed between 33rd and 35th Avenues until about 8:15 a.m. The incident remains under investigation.
