What Can Happen When a Vehicle Leaves the Roadway?
A vehicle that leaves the roadway can encounter hazards such as embankments, trees, barriers, and other fixed objects. The resulting impact can cause serious injuries depending on the vehicle’s speed, direction, and point of impact.
Drivers can reduce the risk of losing control by maintaining a safe speed and staying attentive to changing roadway conditions. Seat belts can also help protect occupants by keeping them properly positioned during a collision.
