El Paso, TX (August 9, 2026) – A 26-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a pickup truck while changing a tire early on Interstate 10 East at Airway Boulevard. The crash happened at about 2:48 a.m. on Saturday, August 8.
Police said the man was changing a tire when a possible silver pickup truck struck him. The vehicle then exited Interstate 10 at the Airway Boulevard off-ramp and fled the scene. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. No additional details about his condition were released. The hit-and-run crash remains under investigation.
