Burbank, CA (August 25, 2026) – A man was killed early on Sunday, August 23, after being struck by a car on the southbound Golden State Freeway near Alameda Avenue in Burbank. The collision happened around 12:45 a.m.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. California Highway Patrol officers closed lanes for nearly four hours while they worked at the location. All lanes were cleared by about 4:38 a.m. The circumstances that led to the man being on the freeway have not been released.
Officials have also not said whether speed or impairment contributed to the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
