Harrington, DE (July 15, 2026) – A 62-year-old Harrington man lost their life after a collision involving a pickup truck on Whiteleysburg Road on Monday night, July 13. The collision happened around 10:45 p.m. near the 1500 block of Whiteleysburg Road.
A Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound when the driver encountered the man lying in the roadway. The driver was unable to stop in time, and the pickup struck the pedestrian.
The man was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 17-year-old Milton driver of the Silverado was not hurt.
The victim’s name has not been released pending family notification. Whiteleysburg Rd was closed for about three hours while investigators reviewed the circumstances surrounding the accident. The review into what led to the collision remains ongoing. We extend our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of the man who passed away.
