Beaumont, TX (August 15, 2026) – A 38-year-old man was killed on Friday night after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Washington Blvd. The fatal collision occurred around 8:40 p.m. in the 2900 block between 4th St and 5th St.
Detectives identified the pedestrian as Justin Balka. Officers found him unresponsive in the roadway, and medical personnel determined that he had already died.
The driver involved in the accident failed to stop and left the location after striking Balka. The police are searching for the driver as the investigation continues.
