Canyon, TX (August 15, 2026) – A woman was critically injured on Thursday evening after a Toyota left US-87 and struck a traffic light pole at US-87 and Russell Long Blvd. The crash happened around 5:30 p.m.
The police said a man from Amarillo was driving the red 2018 Toyota southbound when it left the roadway. The woman, who was from Tulia, was the only passenger.
Both occupants were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver was later released, while the passenger remained in critical condition. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation.
