Martin County, TX (August 18, 2026) – A collision involving three commercial vehicles on IH-20 in Martin County left a 64-year-old McAllen man dead. The vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when the crash occurred on Sunday, August 16.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2022 International LT with a trailer was traveling west when it suffered a tire blowout. The truck veered into the center median and entered the eastbound lanes, where it struck a 2022 Kenworth T680 and a 2005 Kenworth.
The driver of the 2022 Kenworth was identified as Jose Mexicano, 64, of McAllen. He was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with injuries and later died. The drivers of the other two trucks were also transported to Midland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
