Lyon Station, PA (June 23, 2026) – A man was seriously hurt in a workplace accident at East Penn Manufacturing in Lyon Station early Saturday morning, June 21. According to the police, the call came in around 6:23 a.m. regarding a maintenance-related accident inside the company’s Smelter facility.
Information released by the company indicated that the employee was performing maintenance work when the accident occurred. The person involved lost both legs but was reported to be in stable condition following the workplace mishap.
A statement previously posted by the company said it was cooperating with an investigation and reviewing the circumstances surrounding what happened while maintaining its focus on employee health and safety. The identity of the worker has not been publicly released. Investigators are continuing to examine the factors that led to the workplace accident.
