What Is Often Reviewed After Crashes Involving Semi-Trucks and Highway Ramps
Crashes near highway ramps can be especially dangerous due to changing speeds and turning movements. When large trucks are involved, size and weight differences can increase the risk of serious injury.
Investigators often look at vehicle direction, timing of turns, and traffic flow at the point where highways and interstates connect. Visibility and spacing between vehicles may also be reviewed.
Injury severity can vary widely in these crashes. Passengers may face a greater risk, depending on the impact angle and vehicle position.
Medical transport decisions are made quickly after serious collisions. Hospitals with trauma capabilities are often used when injuries are severe, and updates may follow as conditions become clearer.
