How Multi-Vehicle Crashes Can Happen at Busy Intersections
Crashes involving multiple vehicles often occur at intersections with heavy traffic flow. When several vehicles approach at once, timing errors or misjudged distances can lead to chain-reaction impacts.
Emergency vehicles, including ambulances, may add complexity when moving through traffic. Other drivers may react suddenly when yielding, which can increase the risk of a crash if following distances are limited.
Speed, distraction, and visibility also affect how drivers respond in these situations. If one vehicle stops abruptly or turns unexpectedly, nearby drivers may not have enough time to react, leading to multiple vehicles becoming involved.
