What Risks Are Associated with Boating Accidents in Open Water Areas?
Routes carrying recreational traffic near Biscayne Bay can become crowded, especially around popular sandbar areas. In Miami-Dade County, these conditions may increase the chance of incidents when multiple vessels operate close together.
Boating accidents can occur when vessels lose control due to speed, water conditions, or operator actions. Waves, currents, and sudden maneuvers can make it harder to maintain stability, especially in busy waterways.
Visibility, distance between boats, and awareness of surroundings all affect safety on the water. Open areas may seem less restrictive, but they still require careful navigation to avoid collisions or loss of control.
