Miami, FL (January 20, 2026) – A deadly traffic accident occurred early Monday morning on Florida’s Turnpike southbound (SR-821) near mile marker 23 in Miami, resulting in at least one fatality and causing significant travel disruptions. The crash was reported around 2:03 a.m., and emergency crews arrived shortly thereafter.
Authorities confirmed that the exit ramp in the area was blocked due to the severity of the incident. Responders worked swiftly to secure the scene and assess the extent of the damage and injuries. Despite their efforts, at least one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Additional individuals may have been involved, though full details have not yet been disclosed.
