Miami, FL (January 12, 2026) – A driver fled the scene following a crash that caused injuries on the southbound exit ramp of Florida’s Turnpike (SR-821 SB) near mile marker 16 in Miami early Monday morning. The incident was logged around 1:32 a.m. and drew a swift emergency response despite no road blockage reported at the scene.
Injured parties received immediate medical attention as paramedics assessed and treated victims directly on the ramp. The hit-and-run nature of the collision has launched an active investigation by local law enforcement, who are now working to identify and locate the driver responsible for fleeing.
The exit ramp remained open, but motorists were urged to use caution while crews worked near the roadway. The number of individuals hurt has not been disclosed, but officials confirmed the crash resulted in a variety of injuries requiring EMS intervention.
