Miami, FL (March 16, 2026) – A pedestrian died after a hit-and-run crash early on Friday morning, March 13, at the intersection of Northwest 12th Avenue and Northwest 28th Street in Miami.
Emergency units responded around 3:20 a.m. after reports that a person had been struck by a vehicle while crossing the street. Authorities said 62-year-old Antonio Sanchez was hit by a Chevrolet Tahoe as he crossed Northwest 12th Avenue.
Officials reported that the driver left the scene following the crash. Sanchez died from injuries suffered in the collision.
Investigators later identified a suspect in the case. Authorities said 41-year-old Deshawn Daniels turned himself in to police the following day in connection with the crash.
