Why Are Motorcycle Accidents So Common at Intersections and Driveway Crossings?
Intersections and driveway entrances along roads like U.S. 98 can create risk due to turning movements and vehicles entering traffic. When injuries are reported in Escambia County, crews often work to stabilize traffic flow while managing the scene.
Motorcycles are smaller than most vehicles and can be harder for drivers to notice when crossing lanes or turning onto a roadway. Drivers exiting parking lots may misjudge the speed of an approaching motorcycle.
Busy commercial corridors often include multiple driveways where vehicles enter or leave traffic. These frequent crossing points can increase the chance of collisions when drivers and riders reach the roadway at the same time.
