Miami, FL (January 9, 2026) – A serious incident on westbound State Road 836 near NW 42nd Ave early Wednesday morning left four police officers injured, prompting a large-scale emergency response from multiple rescue units and command staff.
The crash occurred around 6:15 a.m. during the height of the morning commute. Dispatch audio confirmed that Rescue 10, Rescue 20, Rescue 3, and a Chief unit all responded to the scene following reports of multiple officers down. The details surrounding the cause of the crash remain unclear, and officials have not yet released the identities of those involved.
On-scene medics provided immediate care to the injured officers, who were evaluated for trauma-related injuries. The severity of the injuries has not been publicly confirmed, but given the scale of the response, each officer was transported to nearby medical facilities for further treatment.
The westbound lanes of SR-836 experienced heavy traffic delays as the scene was secured and investigations began. Authorities are working to piece together how the collision occurred and whether other vehicles may have played a role.
