Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available. We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
Why Crashes Involving Box Trucks Can Lead to Serious Injuries
Box trucks are larger and heavier than standard passenger vehicles. Their increased weight can lead to stronger impact forces during a crash. This can result in severe damage, especially when smaller vehicles are involved.
These trucks also have different braking and handling characteristics. They may require more distance to stop and can be harder to maneuver quickly. This may increase the risk of serious crashes, particularly on busy highways.
Lane closures often follow these incidents while crews remove vehicles and debris. Clearing the roadway helps restore safe traffic flow and allows travel to return to normal conditions.
