How Police Pursuits Can Lead to Secondary Crashes
Police pursuits often involve high speeds and quick turns, which can increase the chance of crashes. As vehicles move through busy streets or highways, other drivers may be caught off guard by the sudden activity.
Emergency vehicles involved in pursuits must navigate traffic while maintaining control, which can be challenging in fast-changing conditions. Collisions during these events can lead to rollovers or multi-vehicle crashes.
Road conditions, traffic flow, and driver decisions all influence how a pursuit unfolds. These situations can quickly become dangerous for everyone on the road.
