How Pedestrian Accidents Often Occur on Major Roads in Mobile
Busy roadways like US-90 in Mobile can present serious risks for pedestrians, especially in low-light conditions such as early morning hours. Wide lanes, higher speed limits, and limited crossing areas can make it harder for drivers to see people crossing the road in time.
Pedestrians who use mobility aids, such as walkers, may need more time to cross streets safely. This can increase exposure to oncoming traffic, particularly in areas without signals or marked crosswalks. Drivers may not always anticipate someone moving at a slower pace across a highway.
Visibility also plays a major role in these incidents. Early morning darkness, combined with limited street lighting, can reduce reaction time for both drivers and pedestrians. Conditions like these often contribute to crashes on heavily traveled routes.
