Kidder, MO (June 20, 2026) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a Kidder man was injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Caldwell Road and JC Penny Road in Caldwell County Thursday morning.
The crash occurred around 7:50 a.m. on June 18, about three miles southeast of Kidder. A 64-year-old Kidder man was driving a Chevrolet pickup east on JC Penny Road when it collided with a GMC van traveling south on Caldwell Road.
Investigators said both vehicles entered the uncontrolled intersection at nearly the same time. The GMC van entered first and was struck on the passenger side by the Chevrolet pickup. After the impact, both vehicles left the roadway and struck a utility pole near the southeast corner of the intersection. The pickup came to rest on its wheels facing west, while the van came to rest on top of the pickup facing south.
The pickup driver suffered injuries and was transported to Liberty Hospital for treatment. The GMC van driver, a 29-year-old Pattonsburg man, was not reported injured. Both vehicles were totaled and removed from the scene.
