How Vehicles Entering and Exiting Businesses Can Cause Conflicts
Businesses along busy roads usually have several vehicles entering and leaving within a short distance. Drivers may slow suddenly, turn across traffic, or wait for an opening near a driveway.
These movements can become harder to judge when traffic is heavy. A driver leaving a parking lot must watch vehicles approaching from both directions. At the same time, motorists on the main road may need to react to unexpected stops or turns.
Road design can also affect visibility near commercial properties. Signs, parked vehicles, landscaping, and nearby intersections may limit a clear view. Reviews of these accidents frequently consider vehicle paths, traffic flow, sight distance, and roadway markings. Nearby cameras or witness accounts may also help establish what happened before contact occurred.
